California State Fair Wine Competition

Another great showing at the California State Fair! Our 2007 Garagistes Pinot Noir was awarded 98pts, Double Gold, Best of Region - Red North Coast Appellations, and Best of Class - North Coast Appellations! A few other Taft Street wines also took home some hardware:

- Silver Medal - 2008 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

The California State Fair Commercial Wine Competition is the oldest and most prestigious wine competition in North America. The competition is open to all California bonded wineries selling retail and each year, thousands of California wines are entered into the competition for the chance to win one of many coveted awards from the State Fair’s panel of expert wine judges.

The San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition results are in and Taft Street took home three silver and two bronze medals:

Sonoma County Harvest Fair

More than 1000 wines using Sonoma County Grapes are entered annually in Sonoma County Fair’s Professional Wine Competition. This competition is the largest regional wine competition in the nation. Judges -- 25 of them -- come from across the US, and from other countries to sit on a judging panel in three days of blind tastings. Their top selections are announced at the Annual Awards Night Gala.

For over 150 years, the California State Fair has recognized the best wines of the state and the dedication of wineries and vintners in the Golden State’s viticulture and enology industry. Award winners truly are the best of the best! This year, Taft Street was awarded three Best of Class and three gold medals!

SF Chronicle Wine Competition Best of Class
January 5-7, 2010
The results of the 2010 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition are in! Sixty-three professional wine judges from throughout the United States evaluated 4,913 wines from over 1,500 wineries across the country and Taft Street's 2008 Russian River Valley Chardonnay was a Best of Class and Judges' Choice Winner!
This is the second Best of Class award for the 2008 vintage. It was awarded a Gold Medal and Best of Class at the 2009 Sonoma County Harvest Fair last October.

We welcome visitors to our tasting room. Open Monday through Friday from 11 AM to 4 PM daily. Open weekends 11 AM to 4:30 PM.
We are closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day, and Easter Sunday.
